Meeting their freshmen year at Belmont University in Nashville, Matt Byers and Trenton Safford quickly bonded over their love for similar music. Although both had a primarily acoustic background, the post hardcore genre intrigued both. This interest led to the creation of their first single, "Distances" with an EP to be released soon after.
